Even thought it's in Finnish you can still get the idea with out understanding the text. This was done in school. The idea was to do a one page long comic of some saying. I have no idea what the saying could be in English, sorry.

Suomalaiset Afrikassa - Finns in Africa

Tehty aikoinaan koulussa. Kaapelitehtaalla oli Afrikka-näyttely jonne piti tehdä Afrikka aiheinen sarjakuva. Vain osa kaikista töistä pääsi sinne ja oli ihan selvää että minun ei päässyt. Matkalla oli monia syitä miksi päädyin tälläiseen hätävaihtoehtoon, mutta ei niistä sen enempää.
Even thought it's in Finnish you can still get the idea with out understanding the text. This was done in school for an Africa-exhibition. Only a few of those that were done actually were put on show. It was clear mine would not end up there. I had several reason of why I did such a silly and hasty work, but I'm not going to get into that.

Memory Never Forgotten

I have been playing Elfquest based RPGs quite many years now. This is a short comic of one of my elf characters. To understand the meaning of this comic you really have to know the character. However, I'm sure you can find something worthwhile with our knowing the character. Because of the age of the comic I will comment it no further. I won't translate it into Finnish either.

Yllä olevan sivu rajan takia tämä
idea ei ollut ihan helppo. Mietin
ideoita joistain aivan tavallisista
tilanteista. Teemaksi otin koh-
taamisen.
Minulla syntyi montakin erilaista
ideaa tämän otsikon alla. Lopul-
ta päädyin yhdistämään kaksi
niistä ideoista joista syntyi tämä
kaksisivuinen sarjakuva.
Voin olla ylpeä siitä, että sain
luotua näin lyhyen mutta toimi-
van tarinan.

Done on a comic course

With the page limit above this idea
wasn't exactly easy. I thought on
ideas of completely ordinary situta-
tions. Encounter begame the theme
of my idea.
I came up with many ideas under
this theme. In the end I combined
two of my ideas of which came this
two-page comic.
I can be proud of creating such a
short comic that actually works.

Puusha on olento, joka oli jo pi-
demmän aikaa ollut mielessä.
Hokuto-manga kilpailun kautta
päätin ottaa tämän hahmon
käyttöön.
Tämän työn lopputuloksesta en ole
millään tavalla ylpeä enkä ole sii-
hen edes tyytyväinen. Minulla lop-
pui aika kesken ja kädet, joiden
kanssa on ongelmia useasti, eivät
jaksaneet enää.
Tulen piirtämään tämän tarinan
uudestaan ja se tulee olemaan
se aito ja alkuperäinen versio
"Iida-mummin Puushasta", jonka
jouduin lyhentämään tätä kilpai-
lua varten.
En pärjännyt siinä, jos mietit sitä.

Done: 2006
Puusha is a creature that's been
on my mind for a long while now.
I decided to use him for this
competition.
I'm not proud of the outcome of
this comic. I'm neither satisfied
with it. I didn't have enough time
to finish it properly and my hands
which often coused problems
were too tired to work on the comic.
I will come to redraw this comic
and it's going to be the original
idea of "Granma Iida's Puusha"
which I had to shorten for this
competition.
I did not do well in the competition

Nopeasti tehty kolme sivua pitkä sarjakuva kilpailuun, josta en ollut oikeastaan kiinnostunut. Tämä oli ainoa idea jonka keksin ja joka oli tapeeksi lyhyt saadakseni sen tehtyä ajoissa.
A quickly done three page long comic for a competition I was not really interested in. This was the only idea I came up with and which was short enough for me to get done in time.
